About Us

We are a leadership development organization committed to supporting the next generation of women of color in public service, activism, and advocacy. We believe that when young leaders are equipped with the right tools, support, and community, their voices can shape a more just and equitable future.

Our Impact

Podcasting for Social Impact

Founded in 2022, our podcast— The She Shall Speak Series— amplified the voices of Black female leaders spearheading local initiatives rooted in racial justice, gender equity, and social impact. Across two seasons, we highlighted the stories of 20 leaders, garnering 800 streams across 25 States and 20 countries.

Global Advocacy

In October 2023, our founder, Denia Smith, presented our work at the United Nations ECOSOC Chamber in honor of International Day of the Girl Child, hosted by The Working Group on Girls. Our remarks underscored the importance of centering Black women and girls at decision-making tables and were addressed to, among 100 stakeholders in the room, Sima Bahous, Executive Director of U.N. Women.

Social Media Campaigns

In 2023, She Shall Speak co-launched, in partnership with Revolutionnaire, a social media campaign (#VoicesforChange) amplifying the voices of 30 Black collegiate changemakers across 8 institutions, garnering 38,705 streams

Named in honor of Mary McLeod Bethune, a trailblazing womanist and civil rights activist, our 8-week accelerated leadership development program is designed to introduce emerging leaders to the world of public service, activism, and advocacy.

Our inaugural cohort brought together 24 fellows from 11 U.S. States and Ghana, providing exposure, mentorship, and resources to shape their paths in public service.
